For U.S. fans– the U.S. Women’s National Team is moving onto the semifinals in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Team USA beat China in the quarterfinals 1-0 from the help of 32-year-old midfielder Carli Lloyd.
This victory will send the Americans to the semifinals of the Women’s World Cup against Germany this upcoming week.
“These are the moments I live for,” Lloyd said of her goal on a 51st-minute header. “Having the freedom to attack and do what I do best enabled me to create some chances. Just overall so happy we got the win — and on to the semifinal.”
Fans will be cheering on the U.S. Tuesday night as they prepare to take on the top-ranked Germany aka the 2003 and ’07 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions.

Hockey is a game to respect as many internationals come to America to play for a professional team–I wouldn’t have developed a good understanding of hockey without my dad making sure the Stanley Cup Finals were on.

  • For the first time in 77 years, Chicago Blackhawks fans saw their hockey heroes raise the Stanley Cup on home ice- first time since 1938

  • The Blackhawks won their third Stanley Cup in six years  with a thrilling 2-0 Game 6 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning

  • MVP went to Duncan Keith- was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL playoff MVP after scoring his third goal of the playoffs in the second period of Chicago’s Game 6 clincher

    • The Warriors won their first NBA Championship in 40 years after defeating the Cavs 105-97 in Game 6
    • After winning 5 Championships as a player, Steve Kerr becomes the 1st rookie head coach to win an NBA title since ’82
    • “It’s ironic but what the unexpected thing was that everything went exactly as we hoped. That never happens,” Kerr said.
    • Warriors finished the season with remarkable 83 wins–that’s the 3rd-most ever by an NBA team
    • MVP went to Andre Iguodala –was given the top individual honor after scoring 25 points in the Warriors’ 105-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6
